What type of internships are offered?

We offer two types of internships, regular internship and custom internships.

Regular internships are internships which are listed on our website, while custom internships are request based internships for which the clients inform on their needs and preferences and we find an internship which corresponds to their requirements.

In what career fields are internship experiences available?

We offer internship placements in many diversified fields, however in case the field or placement is not listed on our webpage we are able to offer a custom internship placement based on your requirements.

Can I choose to intern at a specific company?

All the companies which provide internships are listed on our website, so you can apply freely for to any open positions, in case you need a specific position or a field which is not listed feel free to reach out and we will try to help with finding and adequate position.

What language skills are expected or preferred for internships in Croatia?

The language skills are listed within every specific intern position, while English is mandatory for the majority of the internship listings, sometimes other languages or even Croatian may be required.

Are the internships paid?

There are both paid and unpaid internships available. We offer a range of internship opportunities with different companies, some of which provide compensation to interns, while others offer unpaid positions.

Can I apply for an internship in my first year of studies?

This will most likely depend on the obligations and requirements defined by your home university or college and specific job descriptions posted by host companies.

Is accommodation included in the service?

Accommodation is not included in the internship, some host companies might offer accommodation for locations outside of Zagreb, while for most internships which are located in Zagreb you can contact us, on office@homeinzagreb.com and we will try to find adequate accommodation in regards with your desired internship location and duration.

Are the VISA services included in the service fee?

No, VISA services are not included in the service fee, each client should obtain their VISA while we may assist in providing the necessary documentation.

Do you offer any additional services along with the internship program?

We offer additional services as accommodation, organization of transportation during arrival and departure, and assistance with VISA service in cooperation with law companies.

Do I need to have insurance?

Yes, you should have liability insurance which covers any possible damage which you may cause or which may occur during your internship at the host company. Also, you need to provide these documents to us and will be forwarded to the companies.

How do I apply for an internship?

To apply for an internship with Home in Zagreb, simply fill out the application form on our website with your relevant details and preferences.

Is there a deadline to apply?

The application should be done at least 60 days prior to the start date of the internship program.

What happens after I submit my application?

We will review your application and find the most suitable host company for you.

Can I apply for more than one internship?

Yes, it’s possible to apply for more than one internship.

Can I withdraw my application?

Yes, it is possible to withdraw your application, however, in case of voluntary withdrawal from the internship program the service fee is not refundable, while it may be refundable in case of formal reasons like serious health issues or force majeure. Filling the application form is not considered applying for a position, so the withdrawal is only considered if you withdraw from a previously confirmed application with a host company.

Can I apply for an internship if I am currently not a student?

In order to be eligible for an internship your graduation date should be within the past 2 years.

How long after I apply will I hear back from the recruiting team?

As soon as we have feedback from the hosting companies we will get back to you immediately.

How much is the application fee?

The application fee is 70 EUR (non refundable) and it is applied to all except clients which reserved accommodation with HomeInZagreb

Is there a deadline for paying the application fee?

The application fee payment is done by bank transfer and it is paid during the application overview phase, there is a 7 days deadline for the payment.

What is the purpose of the application fee?

The application fee purpose is to cover the costs of reviewing the documentation and CV provided by the intern and handling the Erasmus documentation prior, during and after the internship.

Is it mandatory to undergo an interview?

Yes, undergoing an interview is typically mandatory as part of the internship application process with HomeinZagreb. The first introductory interview is done with our team, while the the host company will also have an interview with each intern, as part of their internship process.

Will I need to travel to Croatia to be interviewed?

No, the interview can be conducted via phone or online. You will not be required to travel to Croatia for the interview.

How many interviews do I need to participate in?

You will need to participate in at least two interviews during the internship application process. The first interview will be conducted by Home in Zagreb to assess your suitability for the program. If you pass the initial interview, you will then proceed to the second interview, which will be conducted by the host company where you are applying for the internship.

How much is the service fee for finding an internship?

The service fee for finding a regular internship is 300 €. For custom internships, where specific requirements or tailored placements are requested, the service fee is 500 €.

When is the service fee paid?

The regular service fee is paid when the host company confirms you are eligible for internship. While the custom is paid upon

Are there any additional costs or fees that I need to cover during the internship?

You should count on additional costs like

Living costs
Accommodation costs
Travelling costs
Insurance costs

Can I transfer my service fee to a future internship if I cancel?

Yes, in there is a valid reason because you are not able to do your internship and you already made the payment of the service fee, we will prolong the payment you did and it will be valid for up to 1 year from the start date of the original internship placement.

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

The application fee of 70 EUR is non refundable.

The service fee which starts from 300 EUR is refundable in case of serious health issue or problem for which the client is able to provide official documentation from the doctor or hospital or in case of force majeure

Under what circumstances are refunds available?

The service fee is refundable only in case of force majeure or a major health complication or issue for which official documentation is provided.

The service fee is refundable in case we are not able to provide there internship placement.

Is there a refund policy in case I need to cancel my internship?

You should contact us by email on internships@homeinzagreb.com and provide official documentation which proves that there is a serious health issue or problem and from which we are able to verify there is a valid reason for a refund.

Is the application fee refundable?

The application fee is non refundable, only the service fee is refundable in case we are not able to provide an internship placement.

I have been accepted onto the program. When is the deadline to confirm my place?

In case your placement has been successfully confirmed you should accept the placement at latest within 7 days upon receival of the confirmation.

When can I expect to start my internship?

The internship start dates are listed on every placement details, so the date of the internship start is considered the date when you should arrive at the company.

What happens when I arrive at my internship destination?

We will be meeting you at the company (in Zagreb) in order to introduce you to the host company team and your internship coordinators.

Our team is available for you through the whole period of your internship.

What is the minimal duration of the internship program?

The minimum duration is 2 months.

Are there any specific documents that I need to provide upon acceptance of the internship offer?

We will inform you on all documents which need to be provided for your internship.

What is the procedure for canceling or refusing the internship offer?

In case of a cancellation you should inform us by email the reason for the cancellation of the previously confirmed placement.

Once I complete an internship is it possible to do another internship?

Yes, you are able to do another internship after the completion of the first one.

How do I post an internship opportunity?

You should fill out the for companies form and our team will be in touch with your representatives in order to define all cooperation details.

What are my roles and responsibilities?

All the roles and responsibilities will be defined in the internship cooperation agreement.

Can we provide specific requirements or qualifications for interns?

Correct, each company can provide specific details and requirements which need to be met by the interns in order to qualify for the internship placement.

Can we participate in the selection process for interns and be involved in the decision-making?

Host companies actively participate in the recruitment process and selection of candidates.

Are there any additional costs or fees for the company in the internship program?

The additional costs depend on the agreement between the intermediary and host company, and may involve certain processing fees, costs of meals, accommodation and transportation for the interns etc. All costs, if any, will be regulated in the cooperation agreement.

Are there any contractual obligations or agreements between Home in Zagreb and the company?

There are contractual obligations which are regulated in the cooperation agreement and and which will be strictly defined for each placement.

Are there any agreements to be signed with the interns?

The necessary documentation for the successful internship start and end will be provided by the intermediary agency and it will involve signing an agreement between the intern and host company.

What support or resources does Home in Zagreb provide to companies during the internship program?

HomeInZagreb will support the intern and host company throughout the whole internship application process, from the beginning till the completion phase.

How can my institution apply for the internships?

You should fill the institution/company application form and our team will reach out to you.

What information and documents do we need to provide?

We will need some basic information regarding your institution and detailed description of the internship opportunities.

How many students can be eligible for an internship per institution?

This depends on your capacity and number of mentors and coordinators, you are able to offer multiple internships in various fields.

Can our institution be involved in the procedure?

Definitely, the institutions are involved in the interview as well as the selection process.

Do we have to pay for this service?

At the moment the institutions do not have any costs or payments for our services.

How many staff/ teachers can go per year?

Apart from hosting interns, we are also able to facilitate an internship for staff and teachers, whether this is an outgoing program for your employees, or incoming program for guest staff or teachers, the limits depend on the program and institutions.
