What type of internships are offered?
We offer two types of internships, regular internship and custom internships.
Regular internships are internships which are listed on our website, while custom internships are request based internships for which the clients inform on their needs and preferences and we find an internship which corresponds to their requirements.

Are the internships paid?
There are both paid and unpaid internships available. We offer a range of internship opportunities with different companies, some of which provide compensation to interns, while others offer unpaid positions.
Can I apply for an internship in my first year of studies?
This will most likely depend on the obligations and requirements defined by your home university or college and specific job descriptions posted by host companies.
Is accommodation included in the service?
Accommodation is not included in the internship, some host companies might offer accommodation for locations outside of Zagreb, while for most internships which are located in Zagreb you can contact us, on office@homeinzagreb.com and we will try to find adequate accommodation in regards with your desired internship location and duration.
Are the VISA services included in the service fee?
No, VISA services are not included in the service fee, each client should obtain their VISA while we may assist in providing the necessary documentation.
Do you offer any additional services along with the internship program?
Do I need to have insurance?
Yes, you should have liability insurance which covers any possible damage which you may cause or which may occur during your internship at the host company. Also, you need to provide these documents to us and will be forwarded to the companies.
Application process
How do I apply for an internship?
To apply for an internship with Home in Zagreb, simply fill out the application form on our website with your relevant details and preferences.
Is there a deadline to apply?
What happens after I submit my application?
We will review your application and find the most suitable host company for you.
Can I apply for more than one internship?
Yes, it’s possible to apply for more than one internship.
Can I withdraw my application?
Yes, it is possible to withdraw your application, however, in case of voluntary withdrawal from the internship program the service fee is not refundable, while it may be refundable in case of formal reasons like serious health issues or force majeure. Filling the application form is not considered applying for a position, so the withdrawal is only considered if you withdraw from a previously confirmed application with a host company.
Can I apply for an internship if I am currently not a student?
In order to be eligible for an internship your graduation date should be within the past 2 years.
How long after I apply will I hear back from the recruiting team?
As soon as we have feedback from the hosting companies we will get back to you immediately.
Application fee
How much is the application fee?
The application fee is 70 EUR (non refundable) and it is applied to all except clients which reserved accommodation with HomeInZagreb
Is there a deadline for paying the application fee?
What is the purpose of the application fee?
Interview
Is it mandatory to undergo an interview?
Yes, undergoing an interview is typically mandatory as part of the internship application process with HomeinZagreb. The first introductory interview is done with our team, while the the host company will also have an interview with each intern, as part of their internship process.
Will I need to travel to Croatia to be interviewed?
No, the interview can be conducted via phone or online. You will not be required to travel to Croatia for the interview.
How many interviews do I need to participate in?
You will need to participate in at least two interviews during the internship application process. The first interview will be conducted by Home in Zagreb to assess your suitability for the program. If you pass the initial interview, you will then proceed to the second interview, which will be conducted by the host company where you are applying for the internship.
Payments
How much is the service fee for finding an internship?
The service fee for finding a regular internship is 300 €. For custom internships, where specific requirements or tailored placements are requested, the service fee is 500 €.

You should count on additional costs like

Can I transfer my service fee to a future internship if I cancel?

What is the refund/cancellation policy?
The application fee of 70 EUR is non refundable.
The service fee which starts from 300 EUR is refundable in case of serious health issue or problem for which the client is able to provide official documentation from the doctor or hospital or in case of force majeure
Under what circumstances are refunds available?
The service fee is refundable only in case of force majeure or a major health complication or issue for which official documentation is provided.
The service fee is refundable in case we are not able to provide there internship placement.
Is there a refund policy in case I need to cancel my internship?

Start
I have been accepted onto the program. When is the deadline to confirm my place?
When can I expect to start my internship?
The internship start dates are listed on every placement details, so the date of the internship start is considered the date when you should arrive at the company.
What happens when I arrive at my internship destination?
We will be meeting you at the company (in Zagreb) in order to introduce you to the host company team and your internship coordinators.
Our team is available for you through the whole period of your internship.
What is the minimal duration of the internship program?
Are there any specific documents that I need to provide upon acceptance of the internship offer?
What is the procedure for canceling or refusing the internship offer?
Once I complete an internship is it possible to do another internship?

Are there any additional costs or fees for the company in the internship program?
The additional costs depend on the agreement between the intermediary and host company, and may involve certain processing fees, costs of meals, accommodation and transportation for the interns etc. All costs, if any, will be regulated in the cooperation agreement.

Apart from hosting interns, we are also able to facilitate an internship for staff and teachers, whether this is an outgoing program for your employees, or incoming program for guest staff or teachers, the limits depend on the program and institutions.
